THE LEGEND
Taken from Dathomir as a child and forged by Darth Sidious into a living weapon, Maul was rage given horns: a Zabrak Sith apprentice who spoke rarely because the double-bladed saber said everything. He announced the Sith's return by cutting down a Jedi Master on Naboo, and was bisected by the apprentice minutes later. For anyone else, that is an ending.
Maul refused it. Hatred alone kept him alive in the dark, and he clawed his way back to build criminal empires, claim Mandalore, and pursue the obsession that defined his second life: Kenobi. He died in the desert at his rival's hand, asking with his last breath whether the Chosen One would avenge them all. The answer, at least, was yes.
OFF THE PAGE
In 1999 a single poster of a red-and-black face sold an entire trilogy. Maul was The Phantom Menace's design triumph: Iain McCaig's nightmare face paint, Ray Park's martial-arts ballet, Peter Serafinowicz's voice, and the Duel of the Fates score around him. Killing him off after one film looked like a waste for a decade.
Then The Clone Wars and Rebels resurrected him and delivered one of the saga's richest villain arcs, ending in a two-minute duel and a deathbed line that recast the whole character as a tragedy. Few designs this iconic ever got a second act this good.
IN SIXTH SCALE
Maul is a sculpt showcase: the crown of horns, the Sith tattoos, the burning eyes, sixth scale rewards every millimeter of that face. Hot Toys has fielded him from The Phantom Menace duelist to the cyber-legged survivor of the animated era across the Star Wars line, with the light-up double blade as the money accessory.
He is best displayed mid-stride, saber staff lit, ideally within eyeline of an Obi-Wan. The full gallery of revenge is below, newest first.
