THE LEGEND
It crosses the void between stars for one reason: the hunt. The Yautja do not conquer, do not colonise, do not explain. They select the most dangerous prey a world can offer, arrive alone, and observe an honour code older than most civilisations: no children, no unarmed, no sick. Trophies are taken from worthy kills and polished like scripture.
It sees in heat, vanishes in bent light, and carries weapons a spacefaring culture built for sport rather than war. And when a hunt goes wrong, when the prey turns out to be worthier than expected, it does the most honourable thing it knows: it takes off the mask, sets down the advantages, and finishes the contest face to face. Losing to such a creature is, by its lights, the second-highest compliment it can pay. The highest involves a wrist device and a very large crater.
OFF THE PAGE
Predator arrived in 1987 as an action film that quietly became a monster classic: John McTiernan directing peak Schwarzenegger, and a Stan Winston creature design (mandibles famously suggested by James Cameron mid-flight) that entered the pantheon on first reveal. The dreadlocks, the mask, the thermal-vision POV and the clicking growl are all first-tier movie iconography.
Sequels, comics and the Alien crossovers built a mythology; 2022's Prey stripped it back to first principles and proved the premise ages like the trophies do. Few monsters have this much brand power with this few lines of dialogue: the design does all the talking.
IN SIXTH SCALE
Predators are sixth scale at its most imposing: oversized bodies, netted musculature, armour plates, cloth loincloths and arsenals of clip-on culture. Hot Toys built the definitive versions across the films, and a Predator shelf carries real presence: these figures tower over standard bodies and photograph like museum pieces.
Masked and unmasked sculpts, light-up casters and the eternal Jungle-versus-City debate make the species a collecting universe of its own. Every hunter on record is below, newest first.
