THE LEGEND
Cyberdyne Systems Model 101: a hyperalloy combat chassis wrapped in living tissue, built by a machine intelligence for exactly one purpose, and sent backward through time to fulfill it. The first one walked out of a lightning storm in 1984 to end the human resistance before it could begin. It did not stop. It could not be bargained with. It absolutely would not stop.
Then the war changed, and the same machine came back reprogrammed as a guardian. The T-800 that protected John Connor learned slang, learned trust, learned why humans cry, everything except how to do it himself. It ended in molten steel with a thumbs-up, the killing machine that chose sacrifice. Judgment Day was postponed by an obsolete model with a learning chip set to read.

James Cameron dreamed of a metal skeleton walking out of fire, made it on a shoestring in 1984, and gave Arnold Schwarzenegger the role of his life: a villain with 17 lines, one of which ("I'll be back") became the most quoted in cinema. Terminator 2 then pulled the great switch, turning the monster into the guardian, and Stan Winston's effects work set the bar an entire industry chased.
The chrome endoskeleton grin is one of the definitive images of science fiction, and the franchise keeps proving its own tagline: it just keeps coming back.
IN SIXTH SCALE
The T-800 is a pillar of the Terminator shelf and a double challenge for makers: a flawless Schwarzenegger likeness on one end, and the chrome endoskeleton on the other, with battle-damaged half-and-half versions splitting the difference. Hot Toys has taken multiple runs across the films, leather jacket, shotgun and all.
