THE LEGEND
Thor Odinson, God of Thunder, prince of Asgard, was born with the power of a storm and none of the wisdom to carry it. His father cast him to Midgard, stripped of everything, to learn the only lesson that matters: the hammer does not make the god. Worthiness does. He picked Mjolnir back up in the rain, and the sky has answered him ever since.
He has lost more than any Avenger: brother, mother, father, homeland, and half the universe by the width of a headshot. What is left is the truest version: a god who fights for the small and tiny people of a world he was exiled to, who learned that Asgard is not a place, and who is, after everything, still worthy.

Stan Lee reasoned that the only way to top super-men was an actual god, so in 1962 he and Jack Kirby raided Norse mythology and gave Marvel its thunderer, speaking in Shakespearean thees and thous. Chris Hemsworth then did something rare: he played the role so long he got to reinvent it, from stiff fantasy prince to Ragnarok's cosmic comedian to Endgame's grieving heavyweight.
He was the first Avenger to carry four solo films, and Mjolnir's "worthiness" clause became pop culture's favorite ethics test: everyone knows what it means when Cap lifts it.

Thor is a heavyweight of the Marvel shelf in every sense: flowing softgoods capes, armored torsos, rooted or sculpted hair debates, and the best accessory pedigree in the line, Mjolnir, Stormbreaker, and lightning effects to wrap around both.
