THE LEGEND
Diana of Themyscira was raised on an island the world of men could not find, trained by the greatest warriors who ever lived, and gifted by the gods themselves: strength to match the mightiest, a lasso no lie survives, and bracelets that have turned aside the fire of gods. When a pilot crashed through the veil and brought news of a world at war, she left paradise to end it.
What makes her dangerous is not the power. It is that she is a diplomat first and a soldier only when diplomacy has been given every chance, an ambassador of peace who happens to be the finest warrior alive. She walked across No Man's Land because someone had to. That is the whole creed.

Wonder Woman was created in 1941 by William Moulton Marston, a psychologist who helped invent the lie detector (hence the lasso), as a deliberate icon of female power in a medium that had none. She became exactly that: Lynda Carter made her television royalty in the seventies, and Gal Gadot's 2017 film, with its No Man's Land crossing, gave the DC film era its most beloved single scene.
Alongside Superman and Batman she completes DC's Trinity, and she is the only one of the three whose defining weapon is the truth.

Diana anchors the DC shelf's heroic wing: sculpted armor, sword and shield, and the golden Lasso of Truth coiled at the hip, an accessory maker's gift. Hot Toys has issued Gal Gadot's Amazon across her films, with armor finish and likeness work that reward the close look.
