KOLLECTORIUM
FROM THE KEEP · FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER
“I’m givin’ her all she’s got, Captain!”
No shiny new door to open today.
Instead, the Keepers and Builders have been under the floorboards again. 🔧🏰
The last few weeks have involved an unreasonable amount of work on the things you are hopefully never supposed to think about: pipes, indexes, caches, image presses, signposts for the outside world, and several mysterious lines of Ink running through the walls that nobody has adequately explained.
The result should be a lighter, smoother Keep, particularly on phones.
Card-sized pictures are increasingly served as card-sized pictures instead of making your device haul the full Archive portrait into a tiny frame. The original high-resolution images remain safely preserved. Records are being found more efficiently, pages carry less unnecessary weight, and more of the Keep is properly mapped so it can actually be found from outside the walls.
A few weeks ago we taught the Archive not to move the entire library every time somebody opened a book.
This time, we’ve been working on the building itself.
Ideally, you will notice almost none of it.
Except that the doors open a little faster. 🔑
P.S.23 new figures came into the Archive, from Art Figures.
