Mad Max is George Miller's wasteland, created with producer Byron Kennedy. Mel Gibson played Max Rockatansky in Mad Max (1979), Mad Max 2 (1981) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985). Decades after the first film, Tom Hardy took the wheel in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) opposite Charlize Theron's Furiosa, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) went back to her youth with Anya Taylor-Joy in the role and Chris Hemsworth as the warlord Dementus. Few films have handed costume designers, and later figure makers, so much rust, leather and chrome to work with.

In sixth scale most of the series comes from independent makers selling under their own names. [Premier Toys](/manufacturer/premier-toys) has built the deepest Fury Road and Furiosa line: [Immortan Joe](/character/immortan-joe) as "The Warlord", the flame-guitar [Coma-Doof Warrior](/character/coma-doof-warrior) with a speaker stack to stand him on, plus [Furiosa](/character/furiosa) and Dementus from the 2024 film. [VTS Toys](/manufacturer/vts-toys) made Max and Furiosa from Fury Road under its "Wasteland Ranger" name, [Art Figures](/manufacturer/art-figures) produced a Fury Road Max, and [Present Toys](/manufacturer/present-toys) and Dark Toys have both gone back to the leather-jacketed Max of Mad Max 2.

Many of these are coded figures, unofficial likenesses under other names, and collectors judge them as such: on the head sculpt first, then on the weathering. Mad Max costumes are meant to look lived in, so dirt, scuffs and patched leather done well count for more here than on almost any other shelf.
