This is considerably less sinister when applied to shelving.
Now that the coloured SHELF / DRAWER / STAGE controls are live in the Archive, we can finally explain why we have been so strangely particular about them. 🏰
Very soon, The Vault will stop pretending that everything you collect is a figure.
THE SHELF will be where the main pieces live: figures, vehicles, mounts and the things that generally occupy the actual shelf.
THE DRAWER is for all the dangerous little objects currently living in bags, boxes and mysterious foam cut-outs: head sculpts, bodies, clothing sets, accessory packs and parts.
THE STAGE is for the world around them: dioramas, environments, display pieces, stands and scenery.
But the more interesting bit is what happens between those rooms.
You will be able to tell your Vault that a particular head sculpt is fitted to a figure. That an outfit or accessory set is being used with one of your copies. That a diorama on The Stage is placed with the figures actually standing in it.
Not because Kollectorium has decided what is compatible with what.
Because you did.
So instead of merely recording that you own a figure, a head, three outfits and a diorama, your Vault can begin to understand how those things actually form a collection together.
And if you have decided that a head belongs on the Shelf, or that one particular figure lives permanently on The Stage, the filing clerks are being taught to cope with that too.
The Archive has started sorting the pieces. And soon, your Vault gets to assemble them. 🗝️
