Universal Monsters Figures
4 sixth-scale figures across 2 manufacturers
Universal Monsters is the name collectors give to Universal Pictures' classic horror films, the run that gave the twentieth century its idea of what a monster looks like. Bela Lugosi played Dracula in 1931, the same year Boris Karloff played Frankenstein's Monster for James Whale. Karloff came back as the Mummy in 1932, Lon Chaney Jr. became the Wolf Man in 1941, and the Gill-man rose out of the Creature from the Black Lagoon in 1954.
The monsters also have a special place in sixth scale history. [Sideshow](/manufacturer/sideshow) began selling collectibles under its own brand at the end of the 1990s with a Universal Monsters licence, and its cloth-costumed twelve-inch figures were among the most loved things it made, built on the company's original body, the Sideshow Buck. [Frankenstein's Monster](/character/frankensteins-monster) and [Count Dracula](/character/count-dracula) were part of that early run. [Mondo](/manufacturer/mondo) took up the [Creature from the Black Lagoon](/character/creature-from-the-black-lagoon), first in 2020 and then in a 2025 Timed Edition that added a head and chest from Revenge of the Creature (1955), the first time that sequel had appeared in 1/6, on a base styled after 1970s model kits.
Collectors here are chasing a black-and-white film in full color. The best of these figures get the makeup and the period costume right first, and the likeness of the actor underneath it second. Browse the wider [Horror](/franchise/horror) shelf for the monsters that followed.
