Jazzinc Dioramas

Jazzinc Dioramas has one of the best origin stories in the hobby. Founder Joost Assink was a Hot Toys Star Wars collector who built a Death Star diorama because his figures needed somewhere to stand. The community saw it and wanted one too, his retired father produced the first batch, and a Dutch family business was born.

Today Jazzinc is fully licensed and has become the definitive maker of 1/6 scale environments and vehicles, overwhelmingly in the Batman universe. The 1989 Batmobile, the 1966 television Batmobile, the Bat-Wing with its opening cockpit, the 1989 Batcave: these are enormous, four-figure-price centerpiece builds that sell through waitlists and rarely come back.

More recently the company has expanded into licensed figures of its own, including Batman: The Animated Series characters, which is why they appear in the Archive as a maker and not only as an environment builder. A small team of roughly ten people with a reputation for listening to collectors, they occupy a tier of the hobby where the display is the collectible.
