AOM

AOM makes sixth scale basketball players, and its roster reads like an all-time rotation picked by someone who has watched every era. The NBA dominates: LeBron James and Stephen Curry, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (also paired with LeBron in a two-figure set), Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, Tracy McGrady, Dwyane Wade, and newer names such as Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Tyrese Haliburton and Jalen Brunson.

The studio follows players between teams and leagues, too. Luka Dončić appears in both Dallas and Los Angeles colours. Dwight Howard turns up for his Taiwan T1 League season as well as his NBA years. The Chinese game gets its due, with Zhou Qi in the CBA and Yi Jianlian at the FIBA World Cup, players the bigger licensed lines have mostly left alone.

One boxer slips into the line: Ching Fai, from the Hong Kong film Unbeatable.

Basketball figures stand or fall on two things, likeness and proportion, because a seven-footer has to look like one next to a point guard. If you collect across makers, put AOM's figures beside Enterbay's Real Masterpiece NBA releases and check the heights before you shelve them together.
