ThreeZero

ThreeZero (sometimes written Threezero or 3Z) is a Hong Kong manufacturer that carved out a distinct identity in the 1/6 space by focusing on the engineering problems other brands avoided. Where Hot Toys built their reputation on headsculpt realism and fabric costuming, ThreeZero built theirs on mechanisms: how a suit of Iron Man armour opens and closes, how a Transformer actually transforms, how you get 60 meaningful points of articulation into a 12-inch body without it falling apart on the shelf.

Their MDLX line demonstrated what the format could do when you took the body itself seriously as an engineering object: not just a mannequin for clothing, but a precision-articulated figure that could hold any pose without flopping. Their Game of Thrones direwolves showed they could apply the same approach to organic forms.

ThreeZero figures attract a collector who cares about play as much as display, the ability to actually pose a figure through a scene, to have a suit of armour that comes apart convincingly, to own something that does something rather than just standing there looking good. That's a meaningful position in a hobby that sometimes forgets figures were originally made to be handled.
