Honō Studio, named for the Japanese word for flame, is a sub-brand of Hot Toys launched in 2023, and that parentage answers the first question collectors always ask: yes, these are fully licensed, and yes, the production pedigree is real.

Where the Movie Masterpiece line chases cinematic realism, Honō chases the printed page and the animation cel. The debut HS01 Wolverine wore the classic yellow-and-blue comic costume with seamless silicone arms and swappable expressions, and the line has continued through Magneto, brown-suit Wolverine, symbiote Spider-Man, and an LED-lit comic Iron Man, before expanding into animation-accurate Star Wars: Rebels figures.

The positioning is deliberate: bolder styling, lower prices, and faster turnarounds than mainline Hot Toys, aimed at collectors who love characters in their comic and animated forms rather than their film ones. A young line, but one with the deepest pockets in the hobby behind it.
