PY Studio

PY Studio makes unofficial sixth scale figures of game and film characters and numbers them from PY001. It is open about the arrangement: when it announced its Leon S. Kennedy, the figure was described as a fan work, unlicensed and not affiliated with Capcom.

That Leon is a fair measure of the house approach. He stands on an articulated body with a head sculpt that has movable eyes, and he is dressed in a jacket of genuine sheepskin leather, tactical thermals, trousers and boots. The kit list keeps going: chest rig and belt, a pistol and a revolver with spare magazines, a grenade, a flashlight, a knife, hidden blades, a tactical axe, a notebook and a bag. Resident Evil collectors are a demanding crowd, and the list reads as if one of them wrote it.

The other subjects range widely. Doctor Doom comes from the Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday, a character Hot Toys has also taken on at this scale. Sylus, also known as Qin Che, comes from the romance game Love and Deepspace, which makes PY Studio one of the more unexpected names on a twelve-inch shelf. Compare the head sculpts side by side with the licensed versions where they exist; that is where an unofficial maker wins or loses.
