Sir Patrick Stewart has died at 86. Some actors give us characters. A very few leave behind a voice we carry with us. For generations of us, his was Jean-Luc Picard — thoughtful, stubborn, curious, decent; a captain who made the future feel like somewhere humanity might actually deserve to reach. For others, and often the very same people, he was Charles Xavier: still believing that understanding was possible when fear would have been easier. And before either of them, there was a lifetime on the stage. Shakespeare, Beckett, Pinter — a career far larger than the two great worlds that made his face familiar everywhere. The Archive keeps small likenesses of people and characters we love. Tonight they feel a little less like catalogue records. There is a Picard line that feels particularly difficult to read tonight: “It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.” Rest in peace, Sir Patrick. Picard meant an enormous amount to a lot of us. 🖖 The Keep remembers. 🕯️

The KollectoriumTHE KEEP2dA Sentinel Has Been Sighted Beyond the Walls
Hot Toys has opened preorders for the Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi from Avengers: Doomsday. It stands 60 cm tall, has light-up eyes, swappable damaged armour, and comes with a tiny Doctor Doom because apparently the enormous mutant-hunting robot was not making enough of an entrance on its own. The Gatekeeper and would like to know why nobody mentioned the word jumbo sooner.

Leonardo has arrived! Full disclosure: these two (and a few others) are my wife's figures, but they're just too awesome not to share. Donatello is an amazing figure in his own right, but he looked out of place all by his lonesome in her case next to the others. Now that he has a brother, he fits in so much better. Mondo has absolutely crushed these two. The paint, sculpted details & boat load of accessories make these guys a must for any TMNT fan. Very happy to have ordered the timed editions for both. Can't wait for Mikey & Raph to finish off the set!

Got to fill two big absences in the collection on the same day. Palps is amazing, absolutely no notes. The head sculpt and outfit are both impeccable. Little disappointed to find out Saruman's staff isn't diecast and the Palantir itself is underwhelming, but the figure is great. The likeness is solid and the rooted beard is very well done. Super happy to finally have both of them on the shelf!

JND Studios has opened the doors to Hogwarts with Rubeus Hagrid, and subtlety has apparently been left somewhere outside the Forbidden Forest. A towering 1/6 Hagrid, an equally enormous beard, and an original price of $1,180. Expected Q2 2028. The Archive would like to remind everyone that “I shouldn’t have said that” is not a recognized budgeting strategy.

Some words stay with you. Vision gave us one of the loveliest lines in the MCU, and with VisionQuest now here, it feels especially fitting. And what a joy it is to see Paul Bettany and James Spader together again! Their chemistry as Vision and Ultron is wonderful. Bettany brings so much warmth and humanity to Vision, while Spader somehow makes Ultron charming, terrifying, and absolutely hilarious, occasionally all in the same sentence. One trying to understand humanity. The other rather convinced he's understood enough. The Keep holds five Vision figures and three Ultrons, from Age of Ultron to WandaVision and What If...? Eight figures. One very complicated family tree.

So instead I bought the smallest Moducase available to put them in their own display, which I will never do again. Mostly because I don't have the space, but also because I promised to never collect outside of what I can display in a neat & organized manner. Anyway, I love how the box turned out and think they look awesome together.

Steve Rogers is back for Avengers: Doomsday and Hot Toys has somehow turned one returning super-soldier into four editions: MMS928 / MMS928B / MMS929 / MMS929B. The man asked for a quiet life. The timeline, the Avengers, and apparently the merchandising department all said "No, I dont think I will"...
doubdoubCompletely agree. And yet, Hot Toys is clearly capable of making some really great head sculpts. For me, the best Cap is still the Endgame one, and even that one is far from perfect.
