Blackbox Toys

Blackbox Toys built its identity on a game of aliases. Their main line is literally called the Guess Me Series, and the catalogue reads like a quiz night for film collectors: "Agent James" in a tuxedo, a "Replicant Killer" in a trench coat, a "Taxicab Driver" with a mohawk, "Titanic Jack," and the King of Pop mid-tour.

James Bond is their deepest well, with more than a dozen releases spanning the eras of the character, which makes Blackbox the closest thing the hobby has to a Bond archive. Around it sit Blade Runner, DC, music legends, and one-offs from across pop culture, usually offered in A and B costume variants with the occasional 2.0 remake of a fan favourite.

They sit in the mid tier on price and, like most coded-name studios, publish essentially nothing about themselves. The figures are the entire public record, and for characters that will never see an official licence, that record fills real gaps.
