Pop Toys began as a costume maker, producing tailored 1/6 suit sets before they ever shipped a full figure, and that tailoring DNA still shows in everything they make. Today the studio has two distinct identities, and both have devoted followings.
The first is the armor work. Their EX and Armor Legend series knights ship with genuine diecast metal plate, and in some cases handcrafted chainmail, a material commitment almost nobody else attempts at this scale. The Saint Knight and Joan of Arc releases are the signature pieces, with the tenth-anniversary Joan of Arc wearing full metal armor over 2.5mm chainmail.
The second identity is coded film likenesses: The Last Samurai warriors, Braveheart, Sherlock, Top Gun pilots, and a range of historical and cultural figures. These are unlicensed, sold under careful names, and chosen with the same taste for texture and costume that defines the armor line. For collectors who value fabric and metal over plastic, Pop Toys is a fixture.
